hello world!

Michael Williams

The House of Representatives

Retired

Hawke

VIC

I am Michael Rex Williams, raised in various mining towns in WA including a sheep and cattle station near Carnarvon, where I lived, worked and studied. My schooling at this time was done by distance education. My first place of residence in Victoria was Daylesford, where I worked in one of the local sawmills. I am very familiar with the issues concerning education, transport, infrastructure and job opportunities in the electorate of Hawke.

Throughout my life I have been a strong advocate of the rights of ordinary people, particularly those struggling with disability and disadvantage. I have had personal experience of being a single parent and having had to navigate the difficulties of living with disability, as well as supporting others in similar situations. I have also had a long history of being involved with various First Nations groups and the issues facing their communities, particularly the difficulties of interacting with government organizations.

If elected I will certainly listen to, and represent the concerns of all people regardless of their background or circumstances and treat those concerns as seriously as I would my own.
