I am a former health professional, a Registered General and Mental Health Nurse for the best part of 32 years. I’ve worked in various major public hospitals throughout metropolitan Adelaide and one Country Health facility during my nursing career. I am a mother of 3 adult children and married to a tradesman, refrigeration/air conditioning mechanic who started as an apprentice boiler maker in the Australian Navy. My interests are walking the family dog, exploring nature, country drives, camping, travelling and watching movies. I am also interested in the health and well-being for all, both at a mental and physical level.
I believe that to affect positive change in Australia’s challenging political climate, we require people who are not groomed for the political machine and who will commit to addressing grass root/core issues. I take a keen interest in human rights injustices that are occurring more and more in Australia. Loss of basic freedoms – religious belief, free speech and democracy are gaining momentum in Australia, which signals a worrying trend for our future generations. I am concerned about censorship across various media platforms, negative financial and economic impacts and the increasing control the duopoly Governments have succeeded to implement, particularly over the past 2 years.
